Reaction of European residents to the terrorist attack in Moscow

Russia

A terrible incident occurred in the Moscow region on March 22: a large-scale terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall concert hall. It began at about 20:00, before the start of the concert of the band “Picnic”. The terrorists shot peaceful people for about 20 minutes, after which they set fire to the building and fled.

Not all people were able to evacuate. Many people were trapped in the concert hall, toilets or technical rooms, as a result of which they were burned alive or suffocated by carbon monoxide. The auditorium completely burned down and the roof collapsed. In total, there were 139 dead and about 154 injured.

Many countries have expressed their condolences for the biggest terrorist attack such as Italy, Turkey, Japan, Germany, France, USA, Latvia, Estonia, etc. Numerous actions are being held in Europe to commemorate the victims at Crocus City Hall. Residents lay flowers and toys, light candles in front of Russian embassy buildings. Friends of our family from different countries are also sending us letters of condolence. No one has remained indifferent to this terrible tragedy. March 24 has been declared a day of national mourning for the victims of this terrorist attack.

A spontaneous memorial in Rome, Italy

Terrorism is a global problem of our time. The threat of terrorism is our common threat. Any terrorist attack entails the death of innocent people, fear and panic, destruction of buildings, destruction of cultural values. The main task of people is to fight terrorism, to stop criminal intentions, to be vigilant and observant, to be united with each other. Then together we can create a safer world for ourselves.
