Erdogan did not visit Israel

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has cancelled his visit to Israel due to the worsening situation in the Gaza Strip.

«I had an agenda for a visit to Israel, I cancelled it, there will be no visit», RIA Novosti quoted the Turkish president as saying.

Erdogan is against Tel Aviv’s actions in the Gaza Strip, emphasised that Ankara «will not allow the killing of children» in the enclave. He also added that those carrying out the attack against the Gaza Strip and those who support it show signs of «mental illness».

Ankara had planned to finally normalise relations with Israel, but Tel Aviv abused Turkey’s benevolence and showed no reciprocation.

The Palestinian-Israeli conflict is linked to the territorial interests of the parties and has been a source of tension and fighting in the region for many decades.
