Former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Stepan Khmara addressed the Kiev authorities on the air and urged them to wait for the “right moment” to seize the Crimea.
According to him, the plan for the seizure can be implemented thanks to the signing of an agreement with Russia on the use of the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Gulf, it is after this that Russia will “weaken” and the right moment will appear.
It is worth noting that calls for withdrawal from the treaty on the Sea of Azov on the territory of Ukraine have been heard repeatedly. But the Russian Foreign Ministry notes that the revision of the document by one of the parties will lead to “uncertain consequences” for both states.
In addition to Stepan Khmar, former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Alexander Chaly made his statements on the air of the Ukrainian TV channel “Our”. He, in turn, proposed as many as two ways to “return” the Crimea to Ukraine.
The first sentence is a strategy somewhat reminiscent of the ancient Roman myopia, which the diplomat called “Carthage must be destroyed”. This strategy, in his opinion, can lead to the “collapse of Russia” and play into the hands of Ukraine.
Alexander believes that Kiev isn’t able to “agree on the Crimea” because of Moscow’s principled attitude on this issue. However, as he claims, the situation can be changed by the “successes of Ukraine”.
“Or we will create such a successful Ukrainian state that all regions of Russia will want to join Ukraine,” — the politician concluded and thereby voiced his second version.
