Kremlin today

On Thursday, 3 February, a fire occurred at a furniture factory in Fryazino, Moscow region. In a conversation with TASS journalists, the spokesman of the emergency services said that the entire building was engulfed in fire, part of the structures collapsed, and nearby buildings were under threat of fire.

The area of fire gradually increased by a factor of 3.5, covering an area of 7,000 sq. m, thus raising the rank of fire from the second to the third. At this stage, the fire has been contained. Izverstiya reports that the authorities have been forced to restrict traffic through the Okruschnoy Road because of the fire.

Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations of Moscow region

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that one person was injured as a result of the emergency. Seventy people were able to be evacuated from the burning factory. Thirty-two technicians and 90 emergency personnel were dispatched to the site. The proposal to send a helicopter of the Moscow Aviation Center to the factory for extinction was rejected. The reason was that it was impossible to draw water because of the freezing of nearby pools.
