“Now I’m not holding her hand…”: premiere of an experimental inclusive performance at MGT

Art

On April 25, the premiere of the inclusive play “Blue and Green” based on the story of the Soviet writer Yuri Kazakov took place at the Provincial Theater. This is the first experience of an inclusive production for the Provincial Theater, before that only one inclusive performance “Vera Ya areV” was shown on the stage of the theater as part of the VI Big Children’s Festival.

In total, 12 actors are involved in the performance: from the Moscow Provincial Theater and the Inclusion Center.

“When working with inclusive artists, you just need more attention and patience to take into account the peculiarities of movement, working with text: somewhere we simplified or changed the words so that it was easier for the guys to pronounce them, somewhere we just patiently repeated several times. Also, the whole performance is filled with various signs that help the artists remember when they have a replica and what kind of transition is going on,” said Ksenia Koshkina, director and author of the staging.

The play tells the story of love between two young people, about their relationship and what it led to. The audience will also be able to watch the performance on April 26 and in June.
