A predicted COVID-19 outbreak will occur in June. To avoid a new wave, it is necessary to be vaccinated, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko has warned.
“It is very important to revamp accinate now, because according to our forecasts, there is a high risk of a rise in the disease in June, late May, maybe June, as collective immunity declines“, – the minister said.
The minister believes that it is necessary to engage in prevention now, rather than wait for a wave of infections.
Earlier, the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova warned that the pandemic has not yet ended, despite the fact that the rate of COVID-19 infection in Russia has decreased.
In addition to the “Sputnik V” COVID-19 vaccine registered in August 2020, vaccines “EpiVacCorona” from the “Vector” Center of Rospotrebnadzor and “CoviVac” developed by the Chumakov Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences have been developed.
