According to Kommersant, over the past week, the number of people sick in Russia daily exceeded 30,000. The epidemiological situation has forced the government to gradually return some preventive measures.

On Tuesday, the presidium to combat the coronary virus discussed an action plan to combat the spread of the infection.

According to TASS, during the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova suggested that vacations be declared from October 30 to November 7. In the regions with the most difficult epidemiological situation the holidays will start even earlier: from October 23.

The government also recommended that citizens over sixty go on home isolation:

We urge the regions of the Russian Federation to immediately decide on non-working and unvaccinated pensioners with a request to stay at home on self-isolation and go out only in case of emergency“, – TASS quoted Deputy Prime Minister.

Employers are encouraged to give workers two days to be vaccinated.

The QR code system will be renewed in some regions from November 7. PCR tests will be required for visits to restaurants, cultural events (theatres and cinemas) and sporting events.

Control over masking has also increased. In Moscow, a fine of 5,000 roubles may be imposed for a gauze mask which is lowered on the chin.

According to the Rosmian newspaper, Mikhail Mishustin asked the Deputy Prime Minister to present all proposals to Vladimir Putin. The Prime Minister also suggested that the head of the Ministry of Economic Development, Maksim Reshetnikov, prepare a plan to support the business to reduce losses due to the new restrictions.

According to Mikhail Murashko, more than 1.2 million people are under the supervision of doctors. About 250 thousand are hospitalized. Throughout the country, about 275 thousand beds are involved.

Earlier, the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova said that taking measures to combat infection is not enough. Over the past week, about 225 thousand cases of Covid disease have been identified. That’s 15 percent more cases than last week. “I would like to point out that the measures taken today… not enough”, – said Popova.
