G20 – it is government club and leader of state’s central banks with the most developed and developing economy. Having folded all of them like one, we are getting 75% of world’s trade and 85% world’s GDP. Firstly, forum was called to unite ministers of finance and support stability of world’s economy. By 2008 form had changed. Now, summit carried out by heads of state and questions about stability changed for discussion about international economic cooperation.
Summit don’t have unified supervisor, formal secretariat and fixed host country. In 2022 forum took place on Bali.
Undoubtedly, one of the key item for discussion was Russian invasion of Ukraine. Russian invasion of Ukraine. Especially, heads debated about prohibition using nuclear weapon. In final declaration we can find wording: “positions about situation in Ukraine are different”. Notable, what this phrase was said not by participants of meeting. Sergei Lavrov thought, that this expression necessary, he presented Russia at the summit. Russian minister of Foreign Affairs said, what heads of «unfriendly» countries tried to turn final declaration G20 to “anti-Russian” statement.
Btw, about Russian representatives. Personally V.V.Putin couldn’t assist on the forum, he said that he overwhelmed. Sergei Lavrov visited the G20 from Russia.
Minister took in two meetings, dedicated to food and energy security, as well as healthcare. He carried out his mission already on the first day of the summit and left Bali on November 15.
The summit was not without doubtful sayings. Thus, the President of Ukraine, speaking by using video link, addressed the G19, thereby openly ignoring the presence of Russia at the summit. In response, Sergey Lavrov only listened in silence, and then showed: there are problems with reconciliation with the public in Ukraine.
“All problems are on the Ukrainian side, which categorically refuses any negotiations and puts forward conditions that are obviously unrealistic and inadequate to this situation.”.
The outcome of the summit was the final declaration dated November 16, 2022. The document emphasizes the inadmissibility of the use of nuclear weapons, the importance of the grain deal. One of the key decisions of the completed forum was the obligatory preservation of peace and interethnic political stability.
