After committing the crime, the perpetrators tried to flee from the arriving police, but the Diplomatic Police of London was able to detain some of them. The perpetrators are believed to be members of the radical émigré group Nadzeya.

“This attempt of reprisal, committed against persons, who on duty protect the interests of Belarusian citizens and work for the improvement of interstate relations, once again shows the true face and methods of action of fanatics, whom some Western countries persistently try to pass off as peaceful protesters”, –  stressed the Foreign Ministry.

After the radicals attacked the Belarusian embassy, the British chargé d’affaires a.i. was summoned, and the authorities demanded that the British law enforcement bring the perpetrators to justice.

*”Nadzeya” is supposedly a “radical emigrant group,” some of whose constituents attacked the embassy.
