After the conquest of Italy by the barbarians in 455, the period of papal power and the Inquisition began. Only by the XVI century, Italy “rises from the ashes”. This is the time of the Renaissance. Italy is becoming an active player on the world stage. Further history is overshadowed only by the fascism of the XX century and its crisis. Now Italy is a country with a rich history and culture. It is a member of the European Union and NATO.
