“Rain” is approaching Kadyrov: the channel submitted an application to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation on the statement of heads of the Chechen Republic

Kremlin today

Today, February 8, the Dozhd TV channel filed an application with the RF Investigative Committee against the head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov.  The statement made by Kadyrov was interpreted by the TV channel as a call for hatred and enmity, which directly contradicts the laws of our country.  From the comments posted on the channel’s website it follows that this behavior falls under the article of the Criminal Code and is subject to special consideration.

The position of Dozhd was also supported by Novaya Gazeta and sent its statement to the Investigative Committee.

The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, called the Dozhd TV channel, as well as Novaya Gazeta, journalist Elena Milashina and human rights activist Igor Kalyapin, “terrorists, accomplices of terrorists.”

“We have always eliminated terrorists and their accomplices, between whom there is no difference, and we will continue to do so with them”,- Kadyrov had stated.

Therefore, his words cannot be perceived as anything other than a threat..

Direct threats from the head of one of the regions of the Russian Federation cannot be regarded as a statement of “personal opinion”.  The inaction of the law enforcement system and the lack of political assessment of these statements creates an atmosphere of impunity and endangers the safety of those mentioned by Kadyrov.

“We are counting on an immediate response from the law enforcement system and the political leadership of Russia”,

– reported on the media website.

Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov has announced that Ramzan Kadyrov’s statements do not in any way agree with the position of the federal center. Furthermore, Peskov added that if there were threats from the head of the Chechen Republic against the HRC and journalists, it is necessary to immediately sort out this situation, and the fact of litigation through the courts was not ruled out.
