On March 23, Vladimir Putin was vaccinated against coronavirus and now he feels well, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

On March 22, Vladimir Putin announced that he intends to be vaccinated against the coronavirus. In an interview for “Russia 24”, the President of the Russian Federation said: 

“I would like to emphasize once again that vaccination is, of course, a voluntary choice of each person, a personal decision of each person. By the way, I intend to do it myself tomorrow.”

By the way, Putin didn’t say, what kind of vaccine he is going to be vaccinated with, as he believes that all three types of existing Russian-made vaccines are of high quality and reliable. 

However, the press secretary of the president Dmitry Peskov said that Putin does not intend to be vaccinated in public, as he does not want it: “As for vaccination under the cameras, the president does not like it.”

Statistics on the number of vaccinated in Russia

According to statistics, more than 4 million people have been vaccinated in Russia to date, which is 2.2% of the total population. The leading cities in terms of the number of people vaccinated against coronavirus are Moscow and the Moscow Region, the Sakhalin Region, the Magadan Region, and Kolyma. 

The number of vaccinated people is growing every day, which allows us to speak about the confidence and trust of people in the domestic production of vaccination against Covid-19.

The number of cases is significantly reduced

Over the past week, about 10 thousand new cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in Russia, which is a huge decline compared to the situation in November—December, when the figure exceeded 20 thousand people every day.

Nevertheless, the restrictions on the territories of the subjects have not yet been lifted in order to prevent

 a” jump ” in the incidence and the third wave, but, as the government says, if the situation does not worsen,then by the summer it will be possible to abandon the mandatory wearing of masks and gloves in public places. 

The Government of the Russian Federation asks people, who are over 60 years of age to refrain from visiting public places at the moment, to use contactless payment if possible, and not to forget about personal protective equipment also for people who are not in the so-called age “risk zone“.
