On 21 January 2022, the US suddenly launched a war against Russia in space, namely by launching GSSAP satellites aimed at taking out our satellites. The Pentagon stated that two similar satellites were launched into a geosynchronous orbit, which is about 36,000 km above the equator.
In the words of General John Raymond, commander of the US Space Forces: “These satellites will help “move beyond simply locating space objects to understanding what the capabilities of those objects are in critical geosynchronous orbit”.
It was believed that all vehicles outside the Earth’s atmosphere were accounted for, but Raymond states that NASA and the Pentagon do not understand the situation at 36,000 km.
The GSSAP-5 and GSSAP-5 are produced by the Pentagon defense contractor Northrop Grumman. Captain Raymond states that they are different from those that were launched in pairs in 2014 and 2016. It can be concluded that it took the developer six years to allow these satellites to move «freely and safely within the geopanel».
It is no secret in US space forces that GSSAP is part of the “orbital warfare” programme.
It can be concluded that the US is speeding up the arms race in space.
