“I came to the U.S. Senate 120 years ago”. How Joe Biden’s first press conference was held.

On March 25, the first press conference of US President Joe Biden was held. Two months after being inaugurated as president, Biden decided to meet with reporters for the first time.

But have the most pressing questions been answered?

“What press conference?”

A few days before the press conference, the US president was asked if he was ready for the upcoming meeting with the press.

Biden was surprised and asked in confusion,

«What press conference?»

This was the beginning of a wave of tweets and reports that the president didn’t know about the future press conference or simply forgot about it.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, in response to the journalists ‘ accusations, explained:

«He [Joe Biden] is working day and night…That’s why the people chose him for.»

The spokeswoman also added that Joe Biden is working tirelessly, doing everything possible to contain the Coronavirus pandemic and help people living in the United States.

«The president is thinking about what he wants to say…He’s looking forward to talking to the press.»

A pandemic, immigration, and a second term.

Biden became the first president to delay a meeting with the press for such a long time — more than two months.

During the press conference, which lasted no more than an hour, Joe Biden managed to cover the topics of coronavirus and mass immigration, the withdrawal of NATO troops from Afghanistan, and even managed to mention his predecessor, Donald Trump.

«God, I miss him so much,» — he said sarcastically.

In addition, the president told reporters that he is going to be re-elected for a second term in 2024. This statement caused a resonance in both Russian and Western media,

«My answer is yes. I would like to be reelected and my expectations are as follows», — Biden said confidently.

«The most pressing problem that the American people have faced since the beginning has been COVID-19,» — was the response to a question from reporters.

Biden promised that Americans will receive 200 million doses of vaccine by the 100th day of his presidency. The US president plans to engage in foreign policy after the victory over the coronavirus infection. Therefore, first of all, it’s necessary that the country’s economy stabilizes and people finally go to work.

There wasn’t not a single question about Russia at Biden’s press conference. Earlier, in a broadcast from the White House, the president spoke sharply about Russian President Vladimir Putin, calling him a “murderer”. In a number of questions about foreign policy, the US president paid attention to both China and North Korea, but didn’t mention Russia in any way.

Joe Biden promised the Americans to achieve the elimination of North Korea’s nuclear weapons and become a leader country, taking away this opportunity from China.

«China has a main goal, and I do not criticize them for the very goal – to become the leading country in the world, the richest country in the world and the most powerful. But it won’t happen with me.»

Almost the same thing was promised by Donald Trump when he spoke to the press after his inauguration as president.

Let’s see, maybe this time it will come out?

Cheating for help.

According to the Fox News channel, US President Joe Biden used “cheat sheets” at the press conference, which contained key theses on the topics that he was supposed to touch on, and data on the journalists present, even with photos.

Despite the “helpers”, Joe Biden made a mistake: according to his words, the United States now ranks 85th in the world in terms of infrastructure quality, although today they are in 13th place.

Earlier, the media has already accused US presidents of using “cheat sheets”. Donald Trump also resorted to supporting pieces of paper at a press conference in 2019.

Now the American media is actively discussing Biden’s press conference that took place a few days ago and pointing out some of his mistakes. So, the American leader called himself a “gaffe machine”, as if to indicate how many mistakes he makes during public speeches. Special attention of the press this time was attracted by the phrase of 78-year-old President Biden that he “took office in the US Senate 120 years ago.” Some believe that the American leader just joked, while others considered it was another mistake, because during the press conference many times he forgot what he was talking about and lost his mind.

According to the media, mostly journalists familiar with the Biden administration were allowed to attend the press conference. During the entire conference, the US president answered only 25 questions — a small part of what the press wanted to know.
